Wow... wow wow wow. Those things are gorgeous...

I consider this movie (or to more specific, its contents) a dare...;) Might as well get started right away...

Seiously.. If someone ever starts on something like this as a group in Copenhagen, I would LOVE to participate. Imagine having 5 suits and be able to come with a 5 man combat squad? Jesus...

Anyone interrested? I would love to coordinate it.

edit: those guys also made a flamer :D

Revised trailer for a fan-film Damnatus:

http://213.239.192.109/network/sphae...iler_en_hi.wmv

Sadly some stupid copyright rules prevent the copyright to be given from the creators to GW, and GW can't allow such a large copyright infrigement to go unnoticed - so at the moment they are working on finding some way to let the movie be unleashed...

These guys actually made a step-by-step guide aon how they made their Space Marine costumes. I have it on my harddisk somewhere. :)

Emperor.. Send it to me :D I'll load it onto my server and provide a link to it.

Spacemarine

1 vedhæftning(er)
Here is the first evidence, supporting that : Yes, we are building spacemarines.
( though the lower leg on this picture didnt work that well, we are getting progress )

Mr Due Wed, 10 Sep 2008 20:37

@Jack: Finaly someone who's gonna try it !! i don't know if you are following the guide we made but if you do you would actualy be the first one ! (or at least as far as iam aware of)

just one point though... i think that the lower-leg is a bit to straight, (the part over the boot should be wider)

and a little inside information on our new suits... our feet won't actualy be in the boot but rather on top of it and will be coverd by the lower-leg's thus making us higher (about 1ft or so) for Terminator we will lift our self's up even more but for proportian purposes our hands will also be in the gaunlets (holding on to a pre-modeled hand holding weapons and stuff)

this is a trick that is used a lot in Gundam-cosplay's ;)

Jack Hansen Wed, 10 Sep 2008 23:28

As I stated before, we ourselfes where infact not happy with this lower leg, and we are making a new one.
Ive looked at your guide, but i must admit, that your solution seems to cumbersome, for larp purposes.
Though i had never heard of pavepol before, and was actually planing on using cloth soaked in PVA glue, wich ive use before, and gives the result, this paverpol is surposed to give.
But ived ordered some paverpol, and will do tests to see what the diffirence is exactly, and then make out the economics.
How much paverpol did you use for your project ?

Claus Raasted Wed, 10 Sep 2008 23:52

A comment from the side... the problem with the suits we need are that they should be usable for running, combat and so on... so even though the height increase sounds cool, here it'll be problematic, since the Marines will be running in the forest. ;)

And I think the boot looks good, Jack...

Robin Wed, 10 Sep 2008 23:54

Mr Due>>> Sounds absolutely exellent! I can't wait to see the finished Space Marine outfits! Man, making yourselves taller is the best part.

Brilliant... :)

Mr Due Thu, 11 Sep 2008 18:30

@Jack: hmmm... i think we used about 3-4 buckets, although i think using PVC glue or wood glue would do the trick to (maybe water it down a bit)

@Claus: "Walk softly and carry a big gun" ;)

Pommesgabel Thu, 11 Sep 2008 18:41

I absolutely love the look. You did a wonderful job. And a big thank you for putting together the guide.
At the same time, I agree to Claus. They're - sorry - absolutely useless for an action-oriented game. And you probably wouldn't want to risk any damage to them, as well ;)

Lt.Watts Mon, 15 Sep 2008 14:43

Hello, i logged in, but i´m very sorry that i cant take part on this amazing project. ( It´s the wrong date :( )
My name ist Michael, living in germany and I have built the weapons seen at the beginning of this thread.
I´m playing an Lt., formerly cadian guardsmen, know, leader of an squad serving the inquisition...
We are the most heavy equipped imperial troop in germany, but such an event is´nt possible in germany, because of german law and gw..thats shit:(
Well done, the homepage is cool, the music is cool..hehe..the mortar is veeery cool....

Here is another amazing project, official done by thq....

I´m an metal worker not an translator;)

Claus Raasted Mon, 15 Sep 2008 15:37

Wish we could have the Rhino... but stuff like that is a bit out of our budget range... ;)

And hope some of your guys can make it to the event - would be fun to have some well-equipped Cadians (and if they come, we promise to write them into the story) ;)

Lt.Watts Mon, 15 Sep 2008 19:17

Thanks claus, but at this weekend there is no chance...:( but I think there are many imperial freaks in the world are hungry to do an real imperial soldier......I hope in at one day in the future we all come together at one place to do a great imperial military camp............;)
And yes, tanks are very expensive...my own ferret still in repair and restore modus..but one day this little babe carries two 30mm autocannons...
Here are some equipment pics....

Actually I don't see a problem with German law for an event like this since there's no actual projectiles being shot. Otherwise, gw is always an issue, but not only in Germany.
Btw, where from Rheinland-Pfalz are you from? We're located in the Cologne area, so maybe it's not too far...

Claus Raasted Tue, 16 Sep 2008 12:08

Lt.Watts Tue, 16 Sep 2008 18:06

@Robin: Thats right ;)
@Pommesgabel:
Near Mannheim/Ludwigshafen, I think nearly 300km to cologne ....we win the golden deamon competition startet by GW in cologne(Gürzenich) in 2006 and take part as guests with full equipment ( all heavy weapons) in 2007.

I see the problem in the very disciplined and very modern style of the squad, we have massive problems to get an area to display an military camp with barbed wire, sand bags and bunkers( with assault cannon:D )
In germany the people think everytime you are building up an secret army to destroy the democracy....:eek:
The equipment ist not my problem...:rolleyes: only the nice place to have an imperial weekend.....
For mankind

Hmm as far I'm aware, it's possible to lend such areas from the danish military (don't flame me, cuz i'm not sure ^^), especialy if it's only for a weekend :)

Lt.Watts Tue, 16 Sep 2008 19:12

@Thomas:
Thats nice for the danish....but here in germany the army have a problem to lend the training areas for modern military roleplaying or softair. Its a political problem, not a problem with the army.

I´m sometimes guest to military vehicle events on training areas of the army, thats no problem, but every weapons ( dummy, soft, blankfiring etc) are forbidden.

Pommesgabel Tue, 16 Sep 2008 19:39

All your stuff looks very great... but unfortunately not where I'm heading. Real barbed wire is not really my cup of tea.
If you're looking for military simulation, then you're probably right that it's a problem in Germany. Especially with the ideology and visual appearance used by the human Empire... But still, good luck. You might be mire successful with a "private party" approach.

Lt.Watts Tue, 16 Sep 2008 19:52

@pommesgabel:
I´m not talking about real barbed wire....:D :D but this stuff looks very real...I´ve seen the wire first time at this year on an military vehicle event.
Its an type of brushed or painted cord, silver-rusty. I stand 1meters distance to the fence.....I think its an real fence...perfect or warhammer;)
see the pic...

http://up.picr.de/1311679.jpg

Yes...this is NOT a real wire..the ends of the wire is soft
greets

Jan F. Tue, 16 Sep 2008 22:51

nice stuff Lt.Watts,.. what materials did you use,.. hi carbon steel,.. ??

Claus Raasted Wed, 17 Sep 2008 02:11

The gear is VERY impressive... ;)
As said before... too bad you guys can't make it here. We'd love to have you come show off your Cadian gear.

@Pommesgabel:harhar, look sometimes on ebay
@claus:
there are many photos for inspirration
@Jan F.:
No, its standard steel....carbon steel is to expensive and I can´t weld this type of stuff.
And...carbon steel is not heavy enough:D :D , there is not enough of the feeling of suffer and pain an kasrkin had, if he wear his complete armour:rolleyes: my complete personal equipment weights near 35kg...I think it is realistic for an heavy trooper....at last weekend I talk with some german paras, if there wearing the complete Equipment they are nearly similar..
I´dont like only look like.....there must be the feeling of sickness and suffer then its realistic........
Greets Watts

Claus Raasted Wed, 17 Sep 2008 18:04

Well, for this larp at least, we're more about looking good than feeling bad. ;)

Lt.Watts Wed, 17 Sep 2008 18:51

yes , I know...thats ok.....I wear my combat equipment only 10 or 11 hours....is not my fun for an whole 3 day weekend..may be that I´m a freak but I´m not crazy;)
greets Watts

Jan F. Thu, 18 Sep 2008 20:03
